IMPORTANT NOTICE: FMD CHECKPOINTS IN THE WESTERN CAPE

Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) has been confirmed in parts of the Western Cape, and road checkpoints have been activated as part of emergency control measures to prevent further spread.
These measures are in place to protect:

• Livestock
• Farmers and farm workers
• Jobs
• Food security

Please be patient and cooperate with officials if you are stopped at a checkpoint.
Checkpoints include areas such as:
Vredendal, Vredenburg, Brackenfell, Somerset West, Caledon, Worcester, Laingsburg, Swellendam, Mossel Bay, George, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Beaufort West.
