With January being a summer month, the wind is dominated by a southerly component. There were no strong deviations from the long-term average in terms of wind direction and strength. Sandberg (West Coast) , Oudtshoorn and Voorstekop (Heidelberg) experienced less wind than Tygerhoek (Riviersonderend), Elsenburg and Januarieskraal (Darling).
