Temperature – November 2009
Maximum temperatures in November 2009 ranged between 20°C over the mountainous areas in the west and above 30°C over some parts of the central Karoo.
Monthly mean minimum temperatures ranged between 12°C and 15°C over most of the province while lower temperatures occurred over the mountainous areas.
Temperature – November 2009 compared to November 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures were generally lower than during November 2008 over the southern parts and roughly the same over the northern parts of the province.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in November this year were lower than during November 2008 over the western parts of the province and somewhat higher in the southeast.
Temperature – November 2009 compared with long-term
Average maximum temperatures were lower than average over the western parts of the province and somewhat higher in the east, also reflecting the rainfall anomalies during the month.
Monthly average minimum temperatures were near normal over the interior and above normal over the southwestern coastal areas and adjacent interior.
