Temperature – September 2008
Maximum temperatures in September 2009 ranged between 15°C over the mountainous areas in the west and 27°C over some parts of the central Karoo.
Monthly mean minimum temperatures ranged between 12°C over the southwestern coastal areas and 3°C over the northeastern parts.
Temperature – September 2009 compared to September 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures were generally higher than during September 2008.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in September this year were higher than during September 2008 over the northern parts of the province.
Temperature – September 2009 compared with long-term
Average maximum temperatures were higher than the long-term mean over the eastern parts of the province and lower than average over the western parts. This pattern also occurred during August.
Monthly average minimum temperatures were lower than average over most of the interior and slightly higher than average over the southwestern parts of the province.
