Temperature – July 2008
Maximum temperatures in July 2009 ranged between 12°C over the mountainous areas in the west and 21°C over the northwestern parts.
Monthly mean minimum temperatures ranged between 10°C over the southwestern coastal areas and 3°C over the northeastern parts in the Karoo. .
Temperature – July 2009 compared to July 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures were generally slightly higher than during July 2008.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in July this year were slightly higher than during July 2008 over the province
Temperature – July 2009 compared with long-term
Average maximum temperatures were higher than the long-term mean over almost the entire province.
Monthly average minimum temperatures were higher than average in the southwest and lower than average over the northeastrern interior.
