Temperature – June 2009
Minimum temperatures in June 2009 ranged between 9 and 15°C with the lowest temperatures in the northeast and the Boland.
Monthly mean maximum temperatures ranged between 21 and 33°C with higher values recorded over the Central Karoo and lower values over the mountainous areas in the southwest.
Temperature – June 2009 compared to June 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures were generally slightly higher than during June 2008.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in June this year were slightly higher than during June 2008 over the southern and central parts of the province.
Temperature – June 2009 compared with long-term
Average minimum temperatures were higher than the long-term mean over almost the entire province – cloud cover due to rain over the interior probably played a role.
Monthly average maximum temperatures were near normal for this time of the year.
