Temperature – April 2008
Minimum temperatures in April 2009 ranged between 9 and 15°C with the lowest temperatures in the northeast and the Boland.
Monthly mean maximum temperatures ranged between 18°C over the mountainous areas and 32°C over the northwestern interior.
Temperature – April 2009 compared to April 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures were generally slightly higher than in April 2008.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in April this year were higher than in April 2008 over especially the southern and western parts.
Temperature – April 2009 compared with long-term
Minimum temperatures during April 2009 were lower than average over most of the interior, but higher over the extreme southwestern parts of the province.
Monthly maximum temperatures were above normal over the western parts of the province and normal to below normal over the eastern parts of the province where precipitation was above normal.
