Temperature – January 2008
Mean monthly minimum temperatures in January 2009 for the Western Cape were mostly similar to the previous year’s temperatures for the entire province with the deviation ranging between -2°C and 1°C.
Mean daily maximum temperatures in January 2009 were lower than during the previous year in the western side of the province. The dry spell in the east was accompanied by higher daily maximum temperatures compared to corresponding temperatures of 2008.

The daily minimum temperatures in January 2009 for the Western Cape averaged mostly between 12°C and 18°C.
The daily mean maximum temperatures for the Western Cape ranged between 24°C and 36°C, with most places over the West Coast and the Central Karoo recording temperatures in excess of 30°C.
