Rainfall May 2009
Winter rain started with a vengeance during May, especially from the 15th of the month. The Swartland received more than 50 mm of rain while the Ruens received between 20 and 50 mm of rain. More than 300 mm were recorded over some of the mountainous areas in the southwest.
May 2009 compared with long-term
The western parts of the province received above average rainfall while the southern and eastern parts received less rain than normal.
