Heat units for April 2009 over the Western Cape ranged between 100 and 400GDD (about 100 less than during the previous month) with most places recording monthly heat units between 200GDD and 300GDD. Highest values occurred over the low-lying interior.
Cumulative heat units October 2008 to April 2009 were less than during the same period a year before over the western parts and somewhat more over the northeastern parts.
Accumulated heat units for October 2008 to April were above normal over the southwestern parts and near normal over the rest of the province.
