Mean monthly minimum temperatures in October 2008 for the Western Cape were higher or similar to the temperatures during the previous year except over the northwestern parts where they were lower.
Mean monthly maximum temperatures in October 2008 were mostly lower than in October 2007 over the southwestern parts and higher over the northeastern parts.

Minimum temperatures during October 2008 are mostly below normal over the northwestern parts and above normal over the southern parts of the province.
Monthly maximum temperatures for the Western Cape were near normal to below normal over the southern parts where there was a stronger flow from the south causing above normal rainfall over some of these areas while temperatures were above normal over the northern parts of the province.
