Temperature – March 2008

Minimum temperatures in March 2008 for the Western Cape were mostly between 12°C and 18°C.

Monthly mean maximum temperatures for the Western Cape were mostly between 24°C and 30°C for Cape Town, Overberg and most parts of Boland and Eden districts. The districts of West Coast and Central Karoo recorded higher average maximum temperatures ranging from 27°C to 33°C. 


Temperature – March 2008 compared to March 2007

Mean monthly minimum temperatures in March 2008 were somewhat similar to the previous year except for the areas of Citrusdal, Touwsriver and the south western parts of the Central Karoo extending into the Little Karoo which experienced higher monthly minimum temperatures (from +1 to +2?C more) this year for March. 

Mean monthly maximum temperatures in March 2008 were mostly similar to the previous year for the Overberg, Eden and Boland while the West Coast and Central Karoo’s temperatures were higher than in March 2007.


Temperature – March 2008 compared with long-term

Minimum temperatures during March 2008 were near normal to below normal for most parts of the province with the exception of the southwestern parts where it was above normal.

Monthly maximum temperatures for the Western Cape were near normal to over the central and eastern parts while it was higher than average over the western parts.
