Heat units – March 2008
Heat units for March 2008 over the Western Cape were mostly between 300 and 500 GDD with a few exceptions over the high-lying areas where it was less than 300 GDD.

Cumulative heat units for October to March 2008 were mostly between 1500 GDD and 2500 GDD.
Heat units – October to March 2008 compared with previous year
Cumulative heat units for October to March 2008 were slightly less in the east and more in the west compared to the totals for the previous year.
Heat units – October to March 2008 compared with long term
Accumulated heat units for October to March 2008 were above normal over the West Coast, Cape Town and Overberg, while Boland district recorded below normal to near normal heat units. Near normal cumulative heat units are evident over the Central Karoo and Eden.
