Temperature – December 2007

Minimum temperatures in December 2007 for the Western Cape were mostly between 12°C and 18°.


Monthly mean maximum temperatures for most parts of the Western Cape were between 24°C and 30°C. Temperatures lower than 24°C were evident in higher lying areas over the Boland and Overberg while temperatures in the excess of 30°C were evident over Central Karoo and interior of the West Coast district.


Temperature – December 2007 compared to December 2006

Mean monthly minimum temperatures in December 2007 for the Western Cape are higher than during December 2006.

Mean monthly maximum temperatures in December 2007 for the Western Cape are similar to December 2006 over the central and eastern parts of the province while the western parts recorded higher average maximum temperatures than in December 2006.


Temperature – December 2007 compared with long-term

Minimum temperatures during December 2007 were normal to below normal over the eastern and northwestern parts of the province and slightly above normal over the southwestern parts

Monthly maximum temperatures for the Western Cape are below normal to near normal over the eastern areas while the western parts recorded normal to above normal temperatures.
