The NDVI for the 21 - 31 July 2007 is similar to or slightly lower than during the previous year for the districts of Boland and most parts of the West Coast. The entire Central Karoo, Eden and some parts of Overberg’s vegetation indices are lower than during the previous year when widespread rain fell over large areas of the interior..

Over most of the province, the NDVI is higher than the long-term average. The only exception is the extreme northeastern parts of the province
