The NDVI for the 21 - 31 June 2007 is mostly similar or slightly higher than during the previous year for most parts of the Western Cape Province.

The NDVI is mostly normal to above normal over most of the province.

Notice that two images (NDVI difference map and Percentage Average Seasonal Average map) and therefore two different approaches have been included to explain the current season regarding plant growth activity in this province.
It is obvious from these images that the winter rain areas clearly indicate above normal photosynthetic activity, while the Central Karoo, especially more to the east show areas below normal photosynthesis.
