Heat units for March 2007
Heat units for March 2007 over the Western Cape ranged between 200 and 400GDD.
Cumulative heat units recorded from October 2006 to March 2007 for the Western Cape province ranged mostly from 1500GDD to 2000GDD for the coastal areas, while the interior parts received in excess of 2000GDD. However, the high-lying areas recorded heat units of less than 1500GDD..

Heat units – October to March 2007 compared with previous year and the long term.
Cumulative heat units recorded from October to March 2007 were more or less similar to the previous year over most parts of the province with the percentage deviation of -5% to 5%.
Accumulated heat units from October to March 2007 were near normal to above normal over the whole province. The highest positive deviations are evident over the southern and southwestern parts of the province.
