Heat units for December 2006
Heat units for December 2006 over the Western Cape mostly ranged between 200 and 400GDD.
Cumulative heat units recorded from October to December over the Western Cape province ranged mostly between 500GDD and 1000GDD, with a few exceptions of above 1000GDD and below 500GDD.

Heat units – October to December 2006 compared with October to December 2004 and the long term.
Cumulative heat units recorded from October to December 2006 were mostly above the previous year heat units for most parts of the province. In contrast, a notable exception of lower cumulative heat units than during the previous year is evident over the Boland.
The entire province recorded cumulative heat units from October 2005 to December 2006 of below normal with the deviation values of up to -30% with the exception of the southern parts of the West Coast and south-western parts of the Boland which recorded near normal heat units.
