The wind during September was predominately southeasterly (33%) and easterly (20%), with wind speeds remaining below 7m/s. The long-term average wind for September was similar. During September 2003 northwesterly winds were more dominate (21%), while less southeasterlies occurred (24.6%).

The predominate wind directions were southerly for this year, September 2003 and the long-term. In September 2003 more calm conditions were reported. A small percentage of wind speeds between 8 and 12 m/s were reported this September.

The wind direction in September was predominately southwesterly (11.3%) and 41.3% of winds were calm. During the previous year southerly (10.9%) and northerly (10.5%) winds were predominant and a greater percentage calm conditions occurred (46.1%). No wind speeds higher than 7m/s were recorded.

September winds were dominated by westerly winds (35.5%). Conditions during 2003 were similar. The long-term winds for September had a higher percentage of southwesterly (22.5%) winds and less westerlies (28.5%).

Winds during this September, the previous September, and the long-term for September are predominantly calm, with 31%, 34% and 30% calm conditions respectively. The predominant wind direction in all cases was easterly.
