Chill unit graphs for September 2004

During the first two months of winter, all the stations reported below average chill units. This is due to the late onset of cold fronts in the region. The previous year had a similar late winter. July, however, cumulated above average chill units.

During August and September, below average chill units were cumulated for all the stations, except for Elsenburg and Oudtshoorn. This caused almost all the stations to report below average cumulated chill units for the season. Elsenburg was the only station reporting above normal chill units, while Oudtshoorn reported near normal chill units.
