El Niño / La Niña
The development of La Niña has stopped and current indications point towards neutral conditions. La Niña is commonly associated with a "late season".
Outlook for rain
The probability to obtain at least the median or average rainfall per month for the following months is indicated on the maps below.
From these maps it is evident that the largest part of the western region of the Western Cape can expect normal rainfall conditions for the following months. However, the Southern Cape region, including adjacent areas, can expect somewhat below normal rainfall conditions for the months of August, September and October.
